Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026

AI Plant Hub is run by Jim Liu (Sydney, Australia). This page explains what data we collect and why. I try to keep it short and honest.

What we collect

  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used (page views, time on page, aggregated clicks). Both set cookies if you accept the cookie banner.
  • Plant identifier uploads — the AI plant identifier comparison tool sends your uploaded plant photo to third-party AI vision APIs (Google Vision, OpenAI, etc.) for identification. We do not permanently store your photos — they are processed in-memory and discarded after the request.
  • IP address (hashed) — to rate-limit abuse on the AI endpoints. Not linked to identity.
  • Ads (AdSense) — Google AdSense may set cookies for personalized ads if you accept the cookie banner. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com.

Cookies & Consent

On your first visit you will see a cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode v2: until you click “Accept all”, all advertising and analytics cookies are denied. If you click “Reject non-essential” or close the banner, GA4, AdSense, and Clarity continue to run with consent denied (anonymous, non-personalised). You can change your choice anytime by clearing your browser’s storage for this site.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your data. Not to marketers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
  • We don’t train our AI models on your uploads. The models are pretrained and used for inference only.
  • We don’t require accounts. No email, no login, no tracking across devices.
  • We don’t share your plant photos with third parties beyond the AI vision APIs that process them.

Third-party services

AI Plant Hub uses Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, R2 storage, D1 database, Workers AI), Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense, Microsoft Clarity, and AI vision APIs (Google Vision, OpenAI). Each has its own privacy policy.

Your rights

If you're in the EU/UK (GDPR), Australia (Privacy Act), or California (CCPA), you have the right to request, correct, or delete personal data. Since we don't store personal data tied to identity, there's usually nothing to delete — but if you uploaded a pet photo you want removed early, email privacy@aiplanthub.com with the approximate date and we'll locate and delete it.
